»Phantasy 2023« is a copy of prof. Deja Bravničar’s violin, manufactured by Paolo Vettori & Sons, a world renowned Florentine violinmaker with the longest family tradition of violinmakers in Italy.

​Dejan Bravničar’s violin is an exceptional instrument with which our renowned violinist prof. Dejan Bravničar performed more than 50 violin concertos in Slovenia and abroad. In maestro’s own words, he felt extremely privileged to have been able to play on this exceptional instrument and to have had such a precious companion throughout his life. An amazing sensitivity, a wide range of tone colour and a unique sound are some of the main characteristics of this remarkable instrument.

A newly created violin - a copy of Dejan Bravničar’s violin »Phantasy 2023«  will provide the young violinist with the possibility to create the tone on the highest artistic level and the richest platform for creative exploration and learning.

A two year free rent of the »Phantasy 2023« is the main prize of the International Matija Bravničar Violin Competition.
The winner of the 1. category will receive:
  • A cash prize of 500 EUR

The winner of the 2. category will receive:
  • A cash prize of 600 EUR

The winner of the 3. category will receive:
  • A cash prize of 700 EUR

The winner of the 4. category will:
  • Perform as soloist with the Cantabile Symphony Orchestra in the season of 2025/2026

The winner of Dejan Bravničar category will receive:
  • the violin »Fantasia 2023«, a replica of the famous Bravničar violin, a masterful work of art by an internationally renowned violin maker Dario Vettori from Florence.

Second and third prize in each category:
  • One day seminar with prof. Janez Podlesek in school year 2025/2026
